Florence Jacob and James Hagger were elected to become the new driving force unifying Europe towards achieving common objectives. The many subjects requiring in-depth European dialogue with advertisers and agencies will be at the heart of debates to defend independent producers and European directors. The objective is to become an effective association that responds directly to members’ problems, encourages best advertising production practices in Europe, and informs all players in the sector about the defended values. The program developed by the duo seeks to transform the CFPE into a global lobbying force, unifying independent productions across Europe. Key objectives include negotiating contracts on a European scale, supporting initiatives related to compensation for country-specific pitches and uniting independent productions to positively impact the entire sector. The main goal is to rightfully position independent producers as artistic and financial collaborators, cultivating talent in the service of advertisers. Working groups have already been established at the European level to address key issues such as pitch fees, payment deadlines, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), AI and inclusiveness. Regular meetings, both virtual and physical, will be organised to strengthen the collaboration within the European countries and advertising production in general. Read more at www.cfp-e.com

The Polish Advertisers Association (SPR) together with the CFP-E to announce Universal Principles Governing Advertising Film Production at the CMO Summit CEE on November 23rd Shortlist Consulting’s CMO SUMMIT CEE is an indispensable regularly held event “by invitation only” for top marketing managers and advertisers. The aim of the conference is to discuss trends, seek inspiration and analyze the most difficult challenges facing today’s marketing and communication industry. CMO SUMMIT CEE is one of the proCMO initiatives developed and organized by Shortlist Consulting, a company specializing in helping clients and marketing communication agencies get to know each other, establish cooperation and achieve success. We are proud to announce the launch of the resources page on the CFP-E website! This new addition is designed to provide valuable tools and documents that empower commercial film producers and their associations across Europe and beyond. As of October 2023, the Universal Principles of Engagement, a document developed in partnership with the Advertising Producers Association (APA) and the AICP (Association of Independent Commercial Producers), is now live and available for download in several translated versions on the CFP-E website, via the new resources page. We also published a Briefing Document which is translated as well. These documents will encourage the enhancement of transparency across international markets, strengthen communication and help uphold production standards across Europe. Matt Miller, President of AICP stated that: ‘Having Universal Principles as a set of guardrails to operate within has been an important ongoing project of the World Producers. They are important as both a teaching tool and a rules book, globally, for all who engage production and postproduction companies. I’m delighted that we have all come together to articulate what all must know to operate as efficiently and effectively as we can.’ Steve Davies, Vice Chairman of CFP-E also said ‘These are important principles that are the foundation of professional production around the world- ensuring that the engagement, contracting and payment processes work efficiently and sustainably, the the benefit of the advertisers and agencies who work with production companies.The briefing document will be a very useful tool for production companies and the agencies and advertisers they work with, in making the bidding process more efficient.'
