About us
The Commercial Real Estate Success Training (CREST) Program is a comprehensive initiative to support industry organizations in their commitment to attract underrepresented minority students and women to the commercial real estate industry. This premier paid summer internship identifies, screens and engages college students who have traditionally been underrepresented in the vibrant role that the industry plays in the economy and the region. Employer participants are leaders in the commercial real estate field who wish to employ and mentor highly talented students who have the potential to be longer term permanent employees. Employers who represent all aspects of the industry provide interns with meaningful work experience in professional environments that offer learning, professional support and challenge. In addition to great industry exposure, the interns will work alongside leading real estate experts to ac-quire valuable workplace and life skills. The CREST program provides interns with writing, presentation and public speaking skills training as well as personal and professional development guided by organizational development coaches. This truly unique experience seeks only the most motivated and driven students to participate.

Thank you Northstar! 👏🏽👏🏽
This summer, Northstar took great pride in actively engaging with the Commercial Real Estate Success Training (CREST) Internship program in three distinct roles. Steven M. Smith and Denise Pied participated as mentors in the program for Ohemaa Pipim and Anushka Patel. They shared their wisdom on the ins and outs of the industry and what it takes to succeed. They served as a resource for networking and advice on industry best practices, identifying career opportunities, and personal lessons learned. Northstar welcomed Olivia Pedro through the program, who worked with our team for 12 weeks over the summer. Olivia noted her experience with the Northstar team: "I was immersed in a whirlwind of engaging challenges and growth opportunities. From day one, I was trusted with weekly tasks and projects under the guidance of experienced mentors. What I enjoyed most about my time spent with Northstar was the hands-on experience of my projects." Lastly, at the Commercial Real Estate Success Training (CREST) Internship Closing Ceremony, Janet Tse was honored to deliver a short speech on behalf of all the 2023 employers involved in the internship initiative. CREST annually invites two employers to share their insights and experience with the program and its benefits for employers. Janet's speech highlighted how the CREST program has successfully introduced project management as a viable career option for students.
