This week was the grand finale of our Back to School Drive, and we can’t think of a better way to close out the summer. With generous supply donations piled high, our youth volunteers from Suncoast Community Church stuffed every backpack in sight with all the essentials and more. Notebooks, pencils, crayons, calculators...you name it. These are the small things that make a big difference for youth in our foster care and prevention & diversion programs as they get ready for the new school year. Though some children may be uncertain about what this next year holds, they can be certain that there’s a loving community standing behind them—a community that supports and believes in them. So, here’s to everyone who participated in our Back to School Drive! Thanks to your generosity, hundreds of youth will reach new heights as they embark on another year of learning.

For kids in foster care, leaving home is challenging enough. And when siblings are separated in foster care, it’s an even tougher journey. This is the sad reality for many children who enter foster care because they are unsafe at home. Maybe you’re considering fostering and can help us change that. Fostering siblings together enables children to find comfort, support, and familiarity amidst uncertainty. Reach out to us to get the tools you need to get started: Call/Text: 941-334-2971 Email: mhueser@sccfl.org Visit: www.sccfl.org/foster

We are the only community youth shelter in Sarasota, and since its inception, our program has provided nearly 90,000 bed nights to youth with nowhere else to go.
