  • For kids in foster care, leaving home is challenging enough. And when siblings are separated in foster care, it’s an even tougher journey. This is the sad reality for many children who enter foster care because they are unsafe at home. Maybe you’re considering fostering and can help us change that. Fostering siblings together enables children to find comfort, support, and familiarity amidst uncertainty. • Can you imagine being a teenager and not having a place to sleep at night? It’s a harsh reality for many youth right here in our community. Last year, our Youth Shelter provided nearly 3,000 bed nights for homeless youth ages 10-17. We are the only community youth shelter in Sarasota, and since its inception, our program has provided nearly 90,000 bed nights to youth with nowhere else to go. • Homeless without parents or a support system. That’s all Jeremy* had known for most of his short life. His adult brother had been caring for him but didn’t have the resources to help him thrive. And now, it’s time for a new chapter in his story: the one where he finds his forever family. We’re so happy to be celebrating an adoption match for this Jeremy with a family who will help him experience all the things a 9-year old should!

  • Free meals for kids who need them. That's what Summer Break Spot is all about. It's nutritious meals for children 18 and under to keep hunger at bay. There's no cost to participate for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. If you're in need and haven't yet visited a program near you, there's still time to make a visit. Check the calendar for dates, times, and locations near you. Here's the link: https://lnkd.in/ezwuQxwS

  • When a child can’t remain safely at home, they need to be placed in a safe, loving environment where they can thrive. That’s where our dedicated foster parents come in. Without them making a room for our children, we couldn’t have helped nearly 1,600 children last year. We’re grateful for their continual support and dedication.
