CLT offers meaningful 3rd-12th grade assessments. With your help, we are reclaiming the standard for education.
About us
Classic Learning Test has partnered with hundreds of colleges, secondary schools, and homeschool educators to better serve students and colleges with the only assessment that reflects a student's academic potential through accurate measures of ability, maturity, and readiness. The Classic Learning Test (CLT), an alternative to the SAT and ACT, is a norm-referenced assessment that allows a student to display their academic abilities through logic, grammar, and quantitative reasoning. Since the CLT is not criterion based, like the other tests, it allows educators freedom to determine curriculum as well as to value each student's unique ability. The CLT suite of assessments include the CLT for seniors and juniors, the CLT10 for sophomores and freshman, and the CLT8 for middle-school students. Students take our online assessments within 2-hours at a CLT-partnered school or on a scheduled Saturday, receiving same-day test scores that can be shared with colleges through the student portal. On Office Hours with Jeremy Tate, Jeremy and Soren Schwab, M.Ed dive into the most recent, need-to-know news surrounding the education renewal movement. Tune in to hear about how the SAT and ACT are making efforts to “evolve” and “adapt” with the times, leading to watered-down assessments that are more focused on convenience rather than achievement. Jason Bedrick, a friend of CLT, published an article outlining how classical education offers hope for civic renewal in America. Plus, we get to hear the inspiring story of a family that dropped everything and uprooted themselves to get their kids a classical education. Listen to the full episode now: https://lnkd.in/d7uRdVeP

Cicero exemplifies alike the intellectual and moral virtues the CLT seeks to cultivate. "Cicero’s formulation of ethics was a major influence on both the Christian tradition and the sometimes anti-Christian Enlightenment, helping to form minds as diverse as those of St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, Martin Luther, John Locke, Voltaire, and Thomas Jefferson. Few authors in our collection loom quite so large as he, or over so many incompatible schools of thought. Perhaps we would do wisely to return to a fountain that has watered so many so well."
