In 2023, we undertook a comprehensive look at our company branding and messaging to ensure it aligned not only with the company we are today, but the company we aspire to be. We enlisted the talented team at Ashton Design to rethink our brand identity and enhance the clarity of our message. The result was The Civic Group, a public-minded development firm. This rebranding was rooted in our belief that real estate development carries the public responsibility to leave places better than you found them, to work effectively with communities and municipalities, and to do our part in moving the ball forward, for everyone.  We remain committed to providing quality housing across all income levels, from deeply affordable, attainable, student, and market rate. We will also continue to execute a thoughtful expansion of our geographic footprint. Lastly, we're excited to announce the continued growth of our Community and Special Purpose development initiatives. Notable projects include the new home for the Pennsylvania Avenue Black Arts and Entertainment District, Inc., a production studio and headquarters for the Mayor's Office of Cable and Communication (MOCC), and a 60,000-square-foot workforce development hub in partnership with the Equality Equation. Last week we opened Crook Horner Lofts, an 1890's plumbing supply warehouse converted into large 1400 SF live work units. The building previously sat vacant for decades before this investment. Thank you to my partner, Alan Bell, who has spent most of his career in New York City (The old New York) and saw much of the same potential from places like Brooklyn in the City of Baltimore.
