🌟 Introducing New Customer Friday! 🌟 Georgetown Main Street (GMS) envisions a vibrant, inclusive community that supports diverse small businesses and the unique nature of Georgetown in Washington DC. Founded in 2017 and stemming from the Georgetown Business Association, GMS strengthens local small businesses through representation, promotion, and collaboration, hosting events throughout the year to maintain Georgetown’s economic vitality and engage the  community.

Next week, we will be joined by Allison Fine, the President of Every.org. Our conversation with Allison will explore how nonprofits can best deploy technology to strengthen relationships with donors and other constituents like volunteers. Allison will share with us how and why transactional approaches to fundraising are flawed because conventional wisdom (although it was always incorrect) and how we can make $25 donors feel like $1 million donors!

An article published by Celia Ford at Vox examines the shift in generosity and questions whether it is truly in decline or whether it has simply changed to be more direct and less formal (thus not showing up in donation dollars tracked by the IRS or volunteer hours tracked by registered nonprofits). https://lnkd.in/gFXa7z3p I think it's an interesting question especially for the nonprofit sector to consider how to better meet donors and volunteers where they are or are heading. Our own research which TechSoup highlighted in an article we published last month shows that both interest in volunteerism and volunteering activity are now back at pre-pandemic levels and higher than 2019. https://lnkd.in/gDYPn6hi Our ability to measure and track this increase is important as it shapes the public perception and dialog in particular around generational differences. 🤔 Curious to hear any ideas on how we might do this.
