📚 🚲🚶🏻♀️ You might have noticed the new shelter along the FIRST AVE trail at 22nd Street in Cochran Park. This shelter houses the Cochran Park Library Kiosk, which holds 235 books featuring a mix of youth, young adult, and adult fiction and nonfiction titles. The kiosk allows for easy browsing with a color-coded system: yellow for youth materials, red for young adult materials, blue for adult nonfiction, and green for adult fiction. Additionally, there will be a selection of DVDs. The Cochran Park Library Kiosk is not just a new location; it's a new way to access books. Operating like a vending machine, you can now check out library materials 24/7. Simply enter your library card and PIN, make your selection, and the item will be dispensed to you. It's a convenient and exciting way to bring books to your neighborhood. You're invited to a special celebration for the Library's newest addition, the Cochran Park Library Kiosk! While the Missouri River is back in its banks, Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park remains temporarily closed. Floodwaters have left behind debris, silt, and contamination, but our Parks Department is working hard to reopen the park as soon as possible. Thanks again to our Parks and Public Works crews for tackling the additional flood and storm-related work—it's been a busier-than-normal year!
