✨ Excellence in Public Service ✨ Today, Kellie Little was presented with the Excellence in Public Service Award. She's our Senior Human Resources Generalist. In the last year, Kellie has been our point person for recruiting and hiring a new City Manager, along with multiple directors and highly technical positions. It can be a stressful process, but Kellie handles it with grace, attentiveness, and professionalism. We are lucky to have her in the City of Shawnee!

Today we’re showcasing Kevin Messick as a part of Public Service Recognition Week. Kevin joined the City of Shawnee as a Codes Officer in 2001. He’s now a Codes Enforcement Supervisor. Kevin’s goal is to help property owners create a safe and healthy environment while working to preserve home values in Shawnee. “There’s nothing to love more than to walk up and say, ’Great. It's done. They cleaned up that whole backyard and it looks so much better. ‘” Kevin says his team works alongside property owners to give them options. “If they want, we'll give them some ideas of what to do.” Kevin is one of many employees who are making Shawnee a better place. Public Service Recognition Week continues with a profile of Pam Oswald! She's the Office & Facilities Coordinator for Shawnee Parks & Recreation. Pam joined the City of Shawnee in 2012. She enjoys meeting visitors at the Civic Centre and helping them thrive, both on an active and social level. She likes seeing people meet each other during Pickleball and end up being close friends.
