Peoria is the place!
About us
Peoria, Arizona is a dynamic desert community northwest of Phoenix with more than 171,000 residents. Officially incorporated in 1954, the city has grown from the original one square mile in Old Town Peoria to more than 176 square miles of beautiful Sonoran desert in both Maricopa and Yavapai counties. The city is home to Lake Pleasant – the state's second largest lake – and the Peoria Sports Complex – spring training home of Major League Baseball’s San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners. Also, Peoria has award-winning facilities, including the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, Rio Vista Community Park and Recreation Center, Pioneer Community Park, and so much more. The city also is proud of its relationship with the arts community, including non-profits such as the Challenger Space Center, West Valley Art Museum and Arizona Broadway Theatre. Those attractions along with 35 miles of hiking trails, top-notch schools, well planned residential neighborhoods, and an enticing variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment options led Money magazine to rank Peoria among its 100 Best Places to Live. There are many reasons why Peoria is a desirable destination: spring training at the Peoria Sports Complex, community and dinner theater and Lake Pleasant Regional Park. The city is not only a great place to work — it is a great place to live.

Develop Main St. Entrepreneurs in Arizona & Southern California | Manage & Facilitate Empower by GoDaddy A Small Business Accelerator | Address barriers within the small business community
Last Wednesday, 66 entrepreneurs from Greater Arizona and Southern California graduated from the Empower by GoDaddy A Main St. Accelerator program. I am so proud of all of them and their accomplishments. I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds for them. Within this graduating class, two Creators from Student-Made at ASU® took part in this program. They learn practical information such as SWOT analysis, A.I, sales techniques, and social media tools to accelerate their entrepreneurial journey. I am looking forward to supporting more upcoming university and college entrepreneurs. Thank you to our amazing partners Kami Hoskins from GoDaddy, Gretchen Grove from LifeGuides, Kevin Warren from Desert Financial Credit Union, Brian J. Burt from Snell & Wilmer, and Joyce Parra from Accessity. Graduating the program's 8th cohort would not be possible without their support and commitment to making an impact within the small business community. This graduation is extra special because we conducted our first-ever live pitch competition! Thank you to our seven judges, Eduardo Borquez, Gretchen Grove, Manuel Lucero, MS, Meg Taylor, Joyce Parra, Rick Dircks, and Corryn Kivett, who witnessed six cohort members pitch live for a chance to win cash prizes to invest in their ventures. Extra shout out to kissmeth figueroa and Taylore C.Y. Evans, two amazing West Valley business owners who got to pitch and already have plans to make their communities better. Speaking of the West Valley, this cohort includes business owners representing City of Glendale AZ, City of Goodyear, City of Peoria, Arizona, City of Phoenix, City of Surprise, City of Tolleson, and Town of Youngtown. Thank you to the amazing leaders who came to graduation to witness the impact of this program. Thank you to Albert Escobedo from Arizona Commerce Authority, Adam Shipley from City of Avondale, AZ, Brian Sandusky, Ph.D., Britne Corkill & Melinda S. from Umpqua Bank, Daniel B., Kimberly Jordan from WESTMARC, Samantha Cope, and Samuel Peña.
