The PAFR is focused on providing helpful information about city operations, services, programs and financial condition to residents and stakeholders. It is designed to deliver this information in an easily understandable format. The financial information in the PAFR summarizes the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). The ACFR contains a much more all-encompassing collection of financial statements, notes, schedules and other relevant data and has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the past twenty years. Moody’s Rating’s (Moody’s) has upgraded the City of Kennesaw’s issuer rating to Aa1 from Aa2. Concurrently, Moody’s has upgraded the rating on the City’s general obligation unlimited tax (GOULT) revenue bonds to Aa1 from Aa2. The positive outlook has been removed. The City had approximately $11 million of debt outstanding at the end of fiscal 2023. "I am proud of our city's financial improvements and recent bond rating upgrades by Moody's—three upgrades in three years," says City Manager Dr. Jeff Drobney. "In 2015, we relied on a $4 million annual TAN and held an A1 bond rating from 2014 to 2022. With improved finances, economic development, increased reserves through conservative budgeting and the elimination of the annual TAN, our rating improved to Aa3 in 2022 and Aa2 last year. Recently, Moody’s upgraded us to Aa1, citing surplus operations, a healthy reserve and strong management. This achievement reflects the dedication of our staff and Council." The City of Kennesaw celebrated the grand opening of The Piedmont Bank Amphitheater at Depot Park with a ribbon cutting and the first concert of the Kennesaw Concert Series on Friday, June 14. Located in the heart of historic Downtown Kennesaw, The Piedmont Bank Amphitheater features a 50 x 42 ft stage, with back of house and lawn space to hold up to 3,000 people. The grand opening also signifies the completion of Phase 8 of the Depot Park Master Plan. Phase 8 of the Master Plan includes the stage, festival area, a restroom and storage facility and renovation of the Community House to serve as the green room for performers. The Piedmont Bank Amphitheater at Depot Park will be home to many annual Kennesaw events including the Kennesaw Concert Series, Salute to America, A Day with Santa and host to several other events throughout the year.
