Children’s Health Foundation is delighted to announce a $15,000 grant from the Kirkpatrick Family Fund. The gift will be used to evaluate the long-term effects of the Interdisciplinary Training Program on Child Abuse and Neglect (ITP) on its graduates. The ITP is a program of the OU Department of Pediatrics’ Center on Child Abuse and Neglect. It is a critical, graduate-level program that trains professionals to identify and prevent child abuse. ITP staff will use the ripple effect mapping evaluation technique to discover and share the long-term positive effects of the program on its graduates and child abuse and neglect prevention across Oklahoma. Thank you to the Kirkpatrick Family Fund!

On behalf of Children's Health Foundation, it is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved longtime board member, Joe Lewallen. Joe's dedication to our cause was unparalleled; he joined the board in 2010, contributing significantly through his involvement in committees and strategic planning. His leadership as president in 2016, 2017, and 2019 was exemplary. Together with his wife, Jamie, Joe tirelessly championed their son's legacy following his tragic battle with cancer in 1998. The Tripp Lewallen Memorial Tournament, established by friends and family in 1999, stands as a testament to their commitment, raising funds to establish the CMRI Tripp Lewallen Endowed Research Chair in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in 2001. Joe's presence will be sorely missed; his dedication and leadership have left an indelible mark on our organization, McAfee & Taft, and the countless lives he touched.
