Students at our finishing summer camps don't just hear about the world of finishing, they get to see it in action! Campers this week visited Florida Patio Furniture Inc and S & B Metal Products where they got to see the manufacturing process and even got to try their hand at spray washing and powder coating.

We kicked off our first Finishing Summer Camp of 2024 yesterday at State College of Florida-Manatee-Sarasota! Fiona Levin-Smith of IFS Powder Coatings, Inc. visited to teach campers about color theory in paints and coatings. Campers also started on their Color of the Year projects, which they will work on throughout the week before presenting to the group.

Registration is open for our upcoming CCAI Finishing Academy online courses, and seats are already filling up so don't wait to sign up! Four courses will be offered this fall: Liquid Coating - begins September 9 Pretreatment - begins September 9 Powder Coating - begins October 28 System Design - begins October 28 Each course includes a printed copy of the corresponding CCAI training manual, weekly quizzes and forum discussions, a final exam project and more. Our expert instructors are also available throughout the course to assist and answer questions. Discounts are available for companies registering more than one student at the same time. Students may only take one class at a time.

The CCAI Finishing Education Foundation is committed to supporting the future of the finishing industry through our Matt Heuertz Scholarship Program, which provides financial assistance to students enrolled in programs that could lead to a career in finishing and coatings. We are proud to announce that this year, we awarded $17,000 in scholarships to 11 deserving students. The highest award, the Jim Gallagher Scholarship, was awarded to Scott Andreae, an engineering technology major at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
