Each year PDE works with data teams throughout the state to hold “The PDE Data Summit” with a number of learning sessions. This year Charter Choices members, Meredith Regul (Brick & Mortar District Billing Manager) and Abby Dubinchik (Director of Compliance and Federal Programs), were asked to put together a workshop session based off their A/CAPA presentation from the fall where they instruct schools on the importance of accuracy in data entry steps throughout systems and its relation, as well a new direct connection, to accurately capture student funding and tuition. Meredith and Abby will host an advanced level workshop for Charter Schools to both review the importance of in-year data reconciliations and teach schools best practices for efficient and accurate completion of the system comparisons. They will also advertise the VSIMS billing system during their workshop. This will be the first time Charter Choices will be attending or presenting at the Summit. https://lnkd.in/eFeecGE

How are charter schools doing? This is how: a 2023 study by CREDO that examined student performance in 6,200 charter schools from 2014 to 2019 found that using a traditional 180-day academic year as a measuring stick... the study found that on average, charter school students gained the equivalent of 16 days of learning in reading and six days in math on their traditional school counterparts. 25 years ago today School Lane Charter School welcomed 450 students in Grades K-6 making it the first charter school in Bucks County and the first suburban K-8 charter school in Pennsylvania. 25 years later, we've grown to a K-12 school with an enrollment of nearly 1400 students across two campuses and have been designated as an IB World School. We are grateful to the thousands of families who have chosen to partner with us to provide an education for your child. We are also grateful to the hundreds of staff members- past and present- who have worked tirelessly to uphold the mission and vision of our school. Finally, we are grateful for our students and alumni who are working every day to make a difference in the world guided by the knowledge, experiences, and values instilled in them during their time as School Lane students... our future is bright because of you!
