HUGE NEWS for Charlotte County, Florida! Our aviation career and technical education (CTE) programs have been instrumental in attracting new business to our community. Thanks to the skilled workforce developed through these programs, NAS MRO Services LLC has decided to build a state-of-the-art commercial airplane hangar in Punta Gorda. This development brings high-paying jobs and significant economic growth for Charlotte County. Our aviation career pipeline begins at Punta Gorda Middle School with aviation exploration classes, continues at Charlotte High School with Aviation Assembly and Fabrication, and Avionics programs, and culminates at Charlotte Technical College with Aviation Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic training. 🚀 Exciting News for the future of aerospace in Charlotte County! 🌟 The Charlotte County Airport Authority has approved a land lease agreement with NAS MRO Services LLC, a Miami-area firm, to construct a state-of-the-art hangar at Punta Gorda Airport. This new facility will be large enough to accommodate two single-body commercial jets for maintenance and repairs. 🛫✈️ NAS MRO Services LLC can now move forward with the application, permitting, and construction phases, thanks to the CCAA's approval on June 20. Choosing Punta Gorda for their first maintenance and repair overhaul facility was influenced by the presence of the Aviation Maintenance School at the airport, according to Nestor Camacho, Director of Operations and COO of NAS MRO.
