  • The Naples Children & Education Foundation, founders of the Naples Winter Wine Festival, have awarded Champions For Learning a $225,000 grant in fiscal year 2025 to support our College and Career Preparation Program, which is designed to equip and prepare 11th and 12th grade students for their future learning and career goals. Through the program, students will learn about the various options that are available to them post-graduation, including college programs and career opportunities. Because of the generosity of NCEF, more students in Collier County will graduate from high school with the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities to succeed in life.

“I was amazed" - Champions For Learning students recently toured the construction of Gulfshore Playhouse's new theatre, the Baker Theatre and Education Center, where they were provided insight into the various technical career paths that are directly involved with building projects. What began as an instructional lab session at Champions For Learning, where students were introduced to different job opportunities available in the construction industry, quickly turned into a hands-on experience outside of the learning lab thanks to the help and involvement of Rich Housh, an expert in energy, HVAC, and automation. Champions For Learning is kicking off the end of the school year with a special challenge gift from our former student, Areli Sanjuan. At just 20 years old, Areli is launching this campaign with an incredible $10,000 gift that will match your gift dollar-for-dollar up to the first $10,000 raised. Can we count on you to reach this challenge goal? As a Champions For Learning student, Areli experienced first-hand how our staff and community worked together to offer our array of Student Programs. Now, she is committed to giving back and ensuring that more students reach their dreams. With Areli’s generosity and kindness, your investment will go twice as far in championing learning in Collier County. Click here to join Areli's challenge and make a gift: https://lnkd.in/eyRm47H6

At our recent Countdown to Cap & Gown celebration, Fernando Pedroso Garcia, a member of the Class of 2024, took the stage to reflect on his journey with Champions For Learning. When he was in eighth grade, Fernando and his family were still adjusting to life in the United States after immigrating from Cuba. When Fernando discovered Champions For Learning, his family realized that our Student Programs would offer exactly the type of resources and guidance that he needed to navigate the complex American educational system. He is so thankful for Champions For Learning and his mentor, Roger, who helped him discover his dream to become a mechanical engineer and work with cars. Fernando is planning to attend the University of Central Florida this fall. Read Fernando’s full story on our website: https://lnkd.in/eZv8f3ku
