On this Mother’s Day, we salute all moms and those who care about moms. Thank you to United Way of Greater Atlanta for hosting such sn important InForum on maternal health, and to WSB-TV for your coverage of this critical topic. #maternalhealth
It starts with the mom and the entire community,” shared Jemea Dorsey, CEO of the Center for Black Women's Wellness Women’s Wellness. At our most recent Inforum, members of the community gathered to discuss the critical gaps in women’s health and wellness resources. The meeting allowed us to raise awareness about the escalating challenges faced by mothers throughout Greater Atlanta. From inadequate access to prenatal care to postpartum support, the range of issues demands a collective effort. It's not just about individual mothers; it's about the well-being of the entire family and community. Lowering the maternal mortality rate and enhancing community well-being requires organizations, healthcare providers, policymakers, and community members work together to address systemic issues and create sustainable solutions.
