How much do you think a banana costs? It costs about 15 cents, but the real question is where does this figure come from? Yesterday our founder Ishaan Grover shared the answer to this age-old question in front of an audience of industry leaders at the #MITAIConference hosted by the MIT Industrial Liaison Program . . . . When we asked businesses, small and large, most of them said they just did cost + target profit or they matched competitors (maybe a little above or a little below). We found that most pricing strategies currently are determined using high-level rules (i.e. heuristics) when in reality they should be determined by supply and demand. This inefficiency is what catalan.ai was founded to solve.
