🌿 Our community garden in Bridgeton, NJ, is facing significant challenges due to extreme heat. These issues are affecting our plants' growth and overall health, making it harder for us to provide fresh produce to the community. In our latest blog, we discuss the impact of the heatwave and how we're tackling these problems with sustainable gardening practices. You'll also learn about the importance of certain crops like papalo and how we're working to overcome the hurdles we're facing. 👉 Read more here: https://buff.ly/3y9bX0q #CATA #CommunityGarden #Sustainability #FoodJustice #GrowingTogether #BridgetonNJ 🌻🌱 Thank you for your support! 🌱🌻

We work to ensure that migrant and farm workers have better living and working conditions.
About us
We support the Latino immigrant community as they fight for safe, fair, and just living and working conditions in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. CATA’s work is focused around three issues: Workers’ Rights, Immigration and Food Justice. CATA’s organizing work helps migrant workers to address: Wage Theft, Workplace Discrimination, Unfair Firings, Unsafe/Unsanitary Conditions. CATA Members also participate in advocacy work to improve working conditions for all workers including Raising the Minimum Wage, Paid Time Off and Sick Leave, Collective Bargaining Protections. We support our members while applying for driving licenses in New Jersey and DACA. We also inform them about OSHA Worker Rights and Protections and help them to present complaints.

"A heat wave gripped New Jersey this week, the latest blast in what has already been a hot summer. The soaring temperatures have drawn more attention to the plight of workers who labor in the heat at construction sites, on delivery routes, in farm fields, in warehouses and elsewhere. A bill currently being considered in the State House would create statewide protections for workers exposed to extreme heat, like requirements for shade, water and increased breaks. In June, CATA and the Driving PA Forward coalition held an action in Harrisburg to pressure Pennsylvania legislators to pass HB769 and make driver's licenses accessible to all state residents. We marched to the Capitol with banners, chanting "Driver's licenses for all!" During the press conference, youth leaders highlighted the urgency of the issue through moving testimonies and delivered 40 letters to the leaders of the state House and Senate. The legislators' resistance to extending driver's licenses to all residents reflects their lack of response to the changing demographic dynamics and the current social and economic needs of Pennsylvania. Join us and demand that our legislators pass HB769 NOW! #SafeRoads The fight continues, and we will not stop until we achieve driver's licenses for all.
