Our historic Dixie Hwy shoppe was featured in July's issue of Palm Beach Illustrated emphasizing its status within the community as a local landmark! "Open since at least 1958, the shop features the classic slanted roof that Tom Carvel implemented as part of his iconic freestanding building design and twin cones that remain a local roadside landmark. Carvel lived in nearby Atlantis for a time and would often stop by, even using this location to test out new products he was working on. When Scoppa's parents bought the shop, it was operating seasonally; the Mejias opened the doors year-round and the rest is history." Read More on Page 22: https://lnkd.in/eqEWsP5f

“Years ago, our oldest Carvel shops were set up to be mini manufacturing plants because everything is made in the shop,” Jim Salerno, chief brand officer of Carvel, said. “As the years have gone by, that model obviously doesn’t always lend itself to the best guest experience. Guests don’t want to look at your equipment -- they want to see the products fully made…. We want to make sure we’re not changing too much, but we want to move in the right direction to modernize the brand.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/eWNZXwhe

In celebration of 90 summers of soft serve, we are introducing our limited-edition birthday flavor lineup! "On Memorial Day Weekend of 1934, ice cream truck operator Tom Carvel’s vehicle broke down, and a shop across the street lent him the electricity and space to sell his custard so it didn’t go bad. Without that flat tire, the world might never know the business that resulted from it: The Carvel chain of brick-and-mortar soft serve shops that now numbers in the hundreds nationwide. And now, Carvel is celebrating its 90th birthday this month, and it’s kicking off a summer full of promotions to celebrate." Read more: https://lnkd.in/egYBD_bA

Our founder Tom Carvel's ice cream truck got a flat tire causing him to sell slightly melted ice cream on the side of the road. He discovered fans liked the softer ice cream and the rest is history!
