It’s always an honor to spend time with the next generation of commercial real estate leaders. Today, we had the opportunity to host The Commercial Real Estate Group at GSU at Carter and to introduce them to #SummerhillATL. We can’t wait to see how this group impacts our industry for the better!

Yesterday, the Council's Emerging Leaders Initiative visited Summerhill, a completely revitalized community just south of our State Capitol, where the Atlanta Braves used to play. Carter and MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) spoke to our young leaders about the redevelopment of Summerhill and the addition of MARTA's first Bus Rapid Transit line, set for completion by September of 2025. Adam Parker, Carrie Rocha, PE, CCM, and Jacob Vallo discussed the important partnerships that go into shaping a community that reflects the residents already there, adding “MARTA as an amenity,” developing fast, frequent, and reliable transit options, and crating equity and mobility for a historically disconnected neighborhood. This morning, the Carter team had the privilege of attending the Atlanta Police Foundation's annual "Crime is Toast" breakfast. It was an inspiring gathering that recognized the outstanding efforts, dedication, and bravery of individuals committed to keeping Atlanta safe, not to mention a momentous occasion celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Atlanta Police Department. Our Chairman, Bob Peterson, serves on the Atlanta Police Foundation Board of Directors, and we are immensely proud to stand alongside the Atlanta Police Department and its mission to enhance public safety and ensure justice in our city. We were delighted to be joined by colleagues from Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs LLP, and to have the opportunity to hear from Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp among many other business and civic leaders. 🎉 Excited to be part of a momentous occasion! 🎉 The Carter team was honored to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Zoo Atlanta Rollins Animal Health Center, a groundbreaking project in every sense of the word. This state-of-the-art veterinary health center, spanning 16,000 SF, will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of the over 1,300 animals at the Zoo. Additionally, the center's research facility, expansive office space, and education programs will foster innovation, knowledge-sharing, and a passion for wildlife conservation. Our President and CEO, Scott Taylor, serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Zoo Atlanta, and shared with the group the pivotal role the new Health Center will play for generations to come. He, along with Zoo Atlanta President and CEO, Raymond B. King, Zoo veterinarian Dr. Kate Leach, and the honorable Mayor Andre Dickens took part in the program, highlighting the significance of the project.
