  • 🌍✨ At Carbon Credit Quality Initiative (CCQI), we're often asked, "Why don't you sell your scores?" Here’s our ethos behind making our data freely accessible and open source! 🚀 In the realm of carbon credits, integrity and transparency are not just buzzwords—they're the very foundation of trust and effectiveness. At CCQI, we're committed to empowering everyone to understand and enhance quality. From project developers to buyers and traders to crediting programs, we believe that accessible information on integrity risks is crucial to making informed decisions that lead to genuine emission reductions and tangible social and environmental benefits. 🌐 Our publicly-available scoring methodology allows users to understand and reproduce the scores. The methodology can also be used by experts to find their own scores. It also allows other actors in the voluntary carbon market, such as The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) or rating agencies, to draw on it when developing their own approaches. Our unique, user-friendly scoring tool assesses different types of carbon credits against seven key quality objectives. The open-access scores enable buyers and traders to conduct first steps in due diligence and understand how integrity risks differ between project types and carbon crediting programs. It can also help project developers to design projects in ways that address integrity risks. 🌿💡 Our detailed assessments provide rigorous analysis of current market approaches. Led by independent non-profit organizations, our experts—who are not affiliated with project developers or crediting programs—draw on the latest research and a deep understanding of carbon markets to provide trustworthy assessments. Our detailed assessments can be used by carbon crediting programs to improve their rules, for example, when revising their methodologies. They also help the ICVCM and others to understand the nuances of integrity risks. 📊🔍 Our factsheets on different project types provide easily understandable information on key findings from our assessments. These can help buyers and traders and the informed public to understand integrity risks.
