It has been a pleasure to support this work in the development of an oil slick detection model to address one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our day. We provide open data to the Capella Space Community to explore novel solutions leveraging high-resolution #SAR imagery, and look forward to our continued collaboration with the experts at #PML. #disasterresponse
The global demand for #CrudeOil continues to increase, but beyond the impact of this fossil fuel on the Earth’s climate, other risks associated with the demand for #oil are also increasing... One such risk is #OilSpills, with 1000s of spills occurring globally each year, totaling around 700 million gallons of oil entering our ocean annually. Discover our work to detect oil spills across the global ocean using #satellite technology: https://lnkd.in/e-KUjfxr #earthobservation #satellites #tech4good #techforgood #techforchange #tech4change

Fantastic presentation by my former colleague Kreg Barrett here at #EOSummit, presenting coastal and marine products from TCarta. These capabilities important because 83% of the global carbon cycle is circulated through the ocean. And it was interesting to see how they are leverage radar (SAR) from Capella Space

Thanks to Capella Space, the Americas Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) gained access to a #new synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image of Anacoco Island and its surroundings. The image is the first satellite capture reviewed by CSIS showing the Bailey bridge, which is now in use to transport equipment and vehicles to Anacoco. Did you know, SAR image is particularly helpful in identifying man-made structures, especially amid Venezuela's rainy season?
