The Housing Counseling team consists of Crystal Brown, Kimberly Kopplin, and Jason Lake. We are extremely grateful to be chosen as a grant recipient by Racine Dominicans and Forward Community Investments amongst so many wonderful organizations that are dedicated to create resilient, equitable communities throughout Wisconsin! This funding will support our Refugee & Immigrant Support & Empowerment (RISE) program, which exists to engage and empower newcomers so that they can thrive in Portage County! RISE aims to foster a sense of belonging among refugee and immigrant families by: • Providing community awareness and support • Connecting families with resources that address their short-term and long-term needs • Empowering individuals and families to share resources and build leadership Thank you for your support of our efforts to strengthen our communities by creating opportunities to generate permanent, positive change.

After an incredibly competitive application process, we extend our sincerest congratulations to the following awardees! Casa Guadalupe Education Ctr, Growing Lancaster, LOTUS LEGAL CLINIC INC, CAP Services Inc., Housing Resources, Inc., Racine Revitalization Partnership, Inc., Legal Action of Wisconsin, Inc., Nearby Nature Milwaukee, Groundswell Conservancy, and Citizen Action of Wisconsin. Each organization was awarded $50,000 to support a project that addressed a critical need in their community in the areas of immigration and migration, affordable homeownership solutions, or climate equity. Homebuyer Education Workshop Saturday, August 3, 2024 | 9 am - 5 pm CAP Services Program Office River Room 1608 West River Drive, Stevens Point, WI Learn more about the home buying process at this FREE informative workshop with CAP’s Housing Counseling team and a HUD Certified Counseling Trainer. CAP will be conducting a survey of people with lower incomes in our five-county service area starting in Fall 2024. If you are interested in sharing this opportunity with your clients and other community members, please contact Kristy at kseblonka@capmail.org. As a community action agency, CAP is required to issue a report every three years on the causes and conditions of poverty in our region.
