Today, many rigs globally are underperforming while continuing to run DC (SCR) control systems, which cannot access and utilize today’s high-performance digital and automated drilling controls. Converting an existing DC rig to AC used to require rebuilding the rig – but no longer.   To simplify the process, Canrig has developed a new, capital-light approach. Our approach involves replacing the existing DC top drive and drawworks with AC models and installing a compact driller’s cabin equipped with built-in drives to power and control the top drive and drawworks. 🌟Illuminating the way forward! 🌟 Canrig’s ILLUMIC™ LED lighting system is now installed on 12 rigs, and counting, in Saudi Arabia improving worker visibility and enhancing nighttime operations in drilling rigs.
