The Career Pathways Program recently celebrated the completion of the first cohort of CPP fellows. This group of young adults were hired and offered placements across CHA to gain real health care and work experience with guidance and mentorship. During the six month fellowship, they attended weekly professional development sessions that covered topics ranging from resumes and interviewing to career panels and cultural humility, and earned certifications in the Basic Life Support/CPR and Teen Mental Health First Aid, among other trainings and workshops to advance their career readiness. Several fellows will stay on during the summer, some will seek further employment opportunities at CHA and others will pursue their college education in the fall. Funding for this year's Career Pathways Program has been made possible through grants from City of Somerville and the Cummings Foundation.
