Alianza Translatinx released its inaugural report on housing for the transgender, gender-diverse and intersex (TGI) population. The report found that the needs of Orange County's TGI population are not currently being met. CalOptima Health’s Kelly Bruno-Nelson, DSW, Executive Director of Medi-Cal/CalAIM, spoke at the event to share CalOptima Health’s efforts. “Housing is health,” said Bruno-Nelson. “That’s why CalOptima Health is bolstering our housing services and commitment to health equity for all. Our members who identify as TGI deserve access to health care, housing and support without fear of their safety, prejudice and exclusion.” The report was compiled from discussions, focus groups and online participation with 159 TGI members. CalOptima Health is a proud sponsor of the survey and provided equity grant funding to increase housing navigation and case management for the TGI community. The report was featured on the front page of the Orange County Register.
