Marketing Director at In The Style | PR Week 30u30 | The Dots Rising Star

I SPENT $150K ON 1 CELEBRITY INSTAGRAM POST AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED 🤯 It flopped. They had 30M followers and their affiliate link produced $800 in sales and drove 2K in site traffic with a bounce rate of 89%. We recently paid a micro influencer $900 for a video and it resulted in $20K in sales. They had 15K followers. The rule of thumb? Followers ≠ Influence. #influencermarketing

This May, New York City's Times Square became the stage for an intriguing mystery. A billboard displayed an unexpected message: "I'm coming back to Italy"- message signed, Monna Lisa. The iconic painting, created by Leonardo da Vinci and housed in the Musée du Louvre since 1797, seemed to be making an impossible journey. Days later, an Instagram account "monnalisareal" emerged, showcasing a woman resembling the famous portrait enjoying pasta in Rome. The internet exploded with theories and speculation about this perplexing turn of events. The truth, when revealed, was equally captivating. This was an innovative tourism campaign by Visit Italy, introducing Monna Lisa as an AI travel designer. By breathing new life into one of the world's most recognizable artworks, Visit Italy tapped into the modern traveler's desire for immersive cultural experiences. This clever initiative goes beyond traditional sightseeing, offering a deep dive into Italy's rich stories and traditions. We found it to be fascinating. What about you? Share your thoughts below. Think about this for a moment: When you're browsing a website and come across familiar terms, doesn't it just feel... right? That's the "Idiom Principle" at work. It's a concept from persuasion science that suggests we're more likely to respond positively to language we recognize. So, how can you put this into practice? It's all about speaking your audience's language. Let's say you run a fitness business. Instead of generic CTAs, you can use phrases like "Track Your Workouts" or "Get Your Personalized Training Plan". These are terms that fitness enthusiasts instantly connect with. The beauty of this approach is that it reduces cognitive load. In other words, your visitors don't have to work as hard to understand what you're offering. And when things are easier to understand, they're easier to act on. So, next time you're crafting CTAs for your website, take a moment to consider: Are you tapping into the terms and phrases they're familiar with? If you can align your CTAs with your audience's vocabulary, you might just see those conversion rates start to climb. #website #conversionrate #CTA #UI #UX

All brands understand the importance of quality content, but there's more to it than that. It's not just about what you say, but also the context in which it's said. Here's what brands need to consider: the habits, preferences, and digital behaviors of their audience. Another important factor is the unique characteristics of each platform. What performs well on LinkedIn might not have the same impact on Instagram or TikTok. This should determine your content strategy. Discover what resonates with your audience, and then tailor your message accordingly. Have questions about myths in marketing, branding, and communications?
