“I have gained a lot from being a Boys & Girls Club member. I participated in Keystone, Camp Kiwanis, Money Matters, and College & Career Readiness programs. Thanks to these programs, I could interview for a summer job and attend college fairs in the community. I have fond memories of the field trips we went on in the community, including receiving a much-needed pair of eyeglasses from one of the sponsors. What stood out to me was the kind and supportive staff who mentored me throughout the years and encouraged me to do my best. I have been an A.W. “Tony” Matthews Club member in Cobb County for the past 12 years. When I think about my first day at the Club, I still feel the sense of excitement and pride that I had walking into an environment I was eager to be a part of. After these 12 years, every time I walk through those Blue Doors, that excitement and pride are still so vivid. As a high school senior, I am currently immersed in the wild whirlwind of preparing for college. The prospect of stepping into this new chapter of my life fills me with excitement, anticipation, and a touch of nervousness.
