It is with both gratitude and sadness that we share that after over 30 years, Books for Kids is closing its doors. Like many small nonprofits, finding the sustainable funding we need to carry out our mission has been challenging, especially since COVID began. Our Board of Directors has come to the tough conclusion that we are no longer financially able to continue operations and while difficult, must say goodbye to our students, our staff, and to all of you who have cared so deeply for this organization and mission. About us
NONPROFIT CLOSED IN 2023 Books for Kids promotes literacy among preschool-aged children in under-resourced communities. We create libraries and implement literacy programs in order to help children develop the critical early literacy and social-emotional skills they need to be successful in kindergarten and beyond.
