  • This month and for eternity after that, Black Lives Matter celebrates the beauty of Pride and all of our LGBTQ+ Fam! Pride month rolls around every year, and we celebrate the colorful and Black beauty of our LGBTQ+ community. But we must not forget to also recognize the discrimination, hate, and violence our family continues to face today at the intersection of their identities -- and how the fight for LGBTQ+ equality goes hand-in-hand with #DefundThePolice.

  • It's been 70 years since the Supreme Court’s Brown v. Board of Education decision. 70 years later, critical takeaways from the decision that would shape future generations are being strategically removed through targeted book bans, the policing of education curriculums, and anti-diversity and inclusion initiatives. This isn’t just about limiting and restricting progress by policing what information the future generation has access to — White nationalists are also trying to erase Black history from being passed down through future generations. Fight back by using our pre-written letter tool to send a letter demanding better from your state legislators >> https://bit.ly/3WMLP5s

  • Today is Earth Day! Earth Day is when the world acknowledges the protections needed for our Earth. From plastic pollution to food and environment to combating climate change, we must emphasize conserving our precious planet Earth. We can’t talk about Earth Day without talking about water! 🌊💧 Water is not just a basic necessity; it's a fundamental human right. But historically, Black communities have been underserved when it comes to water infrastructure. Many older water systems in these areas deteriorate, leading to water quality issues such as lead contamination. Yes, that means even today, in 2024, majority Black cities, like Jackson, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Flint, and Campti, are forced to live with the consequences of environmental racism and denied access to clean and reliable water. We need to raise awareness on this issue and push our elected officials to expand and protect our access to clean and safe water. Send a pre-written letter to your legislator now >> bit.ly/3TXXA5Q

  • In 2023, a harrowing reality has unfolded: the highest number of killings by US police in over a decade. With an average of 3 lives lost daily, the disproportionate impact on Black Americans cannot be ignored – they are killed at a rate 3 times higher than their White counterparts. This alarming data demands urgent action. We must confront and change these systemic injustices. Join us in our relentless fight for justice and equality. https://lnkd.in/grQcqgA4 #BlackLivesMatter #JusticeNow #EndPoliceBrutality
