Tammy, you and your team have provided our students with a truly incredible experience! Thank you!

Murray L. Woodard II, MBA asked if WeCode KC could provide a fun and informative opportunity for students attending summer camp at BLAQUE KC Freedom School to learn about the use of technology through a #raspberrypi. Well of course!! This is the result of two #blackwomen-led youth organizations collaborating to empower youth in the #KansasCity community with the skills they need to become future-ready professionals. WeCode instructors lead by Ben, Antonio, George and Jackson prepared a 6-week curriculum to teach the basic concepts of coding, introduced them to hardware assembly and they applied their creativity to the raspberrypi. We had a few set backs along the way, #butGod always makes a way. The third-party vendor shipping the raspberry pi’s took a bit longer than expected, but the team quickly created an emulation model of the raspberry pi so the students would be familiar with the technology once we received the devices. Excited to have been apart of this summer camp, impacting young minds and building a more robust, inclusive tech ecosystem. Thank you, Cokethea Hill, PhD, Murray, Semaj, Nicole and the entire BLAQUE KC team for this #collaboration! Sign your students up for WeCode’s Summer of Code July 29th - August 2nd for hands-on training workshops that focus on teaching the beginner, intermediate, and advanced students the technology concepts from programming language to hardware assembly. #LearnTech #communities #ThirdDistrictKansasCity #bettertogether #freedomschools #summercamp2024 #TechCamp https://lnkd.in/gVp6Dw9f
