Lemar Ingram for nearly 20 years has been a corporate executive for some of the leading brands in the hospitality industry. However, his first lessons in hustle and hard work came from hip hop rappers - to him - teachers. Sharing insights on the mindset and determination one needs to overcome even the most challenging of circumstances. "The G-Code: Behind the Bars", is a manual that outlines a path to success in the corporate world utilizing lessons taught by some of the greatest writers/poets of the 20th century. Described as: A hip-hop connoisseur's guide through corporate America. This literary offering provides a unique audiovisual experience. It's more than a book, it's an experience. Lemar’s book carries a profound message of embracing authenticity and staying true to oneself. “The most important thing, believe it or not, is to be yourself. You have to know that you are good enough to be anything you want to be, just as you are. You don’t have to become something you’re not to accomplish your goals,” said Lemar. In May 2023, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis banned colleges and universities from using state funding towards any diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. On March 1, University of Florida made waves in the academic community with the WAY they went about complying with the program. The university announced it has closed the Office of the Chief Diversity Officer and halted DEI-focused contracts with outside vendors. Several comments have been made about UF's actions towards the law. Some informing those really considered that Florida residents could tap into these citizen recourses: referendum or contact their elected officials to push back to repeal the law. However, BPN community, let's discuss - what are your thoughts on the Florida law and UF's actions towards complying? 1. Do DEI programs help or hurt our progression as a community? 2. With DEI under attack on so many levels, what are some solutions to ensure we still reach our career, business or household goals? #BlackProfessionalsNetwork #UniversityofFlorida #UFDEI
