It's mid July...who can't relate with having had a terrific vacation, filled with fond memories and fun yet when you get home you're not rested and ready to get back to work? Where's the motivation? Why aren't you recharged? 🤔 Maybe you're suffering from the post vacation blues!? 😢 It's ok, it happens to the best of us! This HBR article talks about things you can do to make your return to work a success such as; 🌞 Prepare ahead by setting reasonable expectations and planning your first days back. 🌞 Think about coming back on a Tuesday or Wednesday. 🌞 Start off slow - don't overdo it - keep those high stress meetings and projects for later in the week. 🌞 Check back in with yourself and remind yourself about why you do what you do. Remember your purpose. 🌞 Keep things in perspective. Give yourself a pat on the back and be grateful for having provided yourself and your family with a vacation. 🌞 Reconsider your options...if necessary. Worst case; if after a few weeks you're still not happy, reconsider where you are professionally. Maybe it's time for a change?

🎇 🎆INTERVIEW ADVICE🎆 🎇 Changing jobs or currently interviewing? Here is a great tip to have the most impactful interview possible! One of the most frequently asked questions during an interview is: "Why are you interested in our company and this opportunity?" Now, this may seem like a simple question that can be answered with a straightforward response, such as: - I heard about it from a friend. - The science is interesting. - I don't think my current company is financially secure, so it was time for me to explore. - I was laid off and saw your posting on LinkedIn. However, many candidates miss a key opportunity to set the stage for the interview. The basis of the response should always focus on the draw or pull to the new company rather than the push from the old. This is the perfect time to show the interviewer how much you know about the company and define why their science and this opportunity are an ideal match for your career. For example: - I was drawn to your opportunity as I am a firm believer in the power of (area of interest). Your founding scientists are an inspiration, and there are direct ties to my academic or industry background. - I am excited to learn more about your science! Your preclinical program in (Disease Area) is very exciting. I am a firm believer in (Modality), and I thought my skills gained from past experiences could make a difference within your company. I am determined to be a part of a team developing a cure. Don't miss this key opportunity to make an impact during your next interview! #giveahoot #interview #interviewadvice
