Congratulations all new Journeyman/women graduating in 2024, what you have accomplished is not an easy task, and you should all be proud!! Each year Big State Electric is proud to announce our JATC graduates from all our offices within the BSE family. This year we saw 35 graduate, and we want to welcome them as they begin their new chapter as Journeyman/women.  These young men and women worked hard to complete five years of required classroom hours along with mandatory on the job training. Regional Safety Manager: Responsibilities:  o   Developing and implementing workplace safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards. o   Providing personnel with safety-related information such as training sessions, emergency protocols, and proper use of safety equipment. o   Reviewing existing policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date. o   Overseeing the company's daily operations and identifying opportunities for improvement of safety regulations. o   Performing safety audits and physically inspecting all work areas and jobsites to identify possible safety issues. o   Conducting risk assessments to minimize workplace accidents, occupational illnesses, or long-term health hazards. o   Preparing monthly or annual safety reports and presenting the information to management. o   Collaborating with management to plan and implement a safety protocol budget. o   Employee care management, workman compensation and insurance coordination.  ·      Requirements -  o   10 years’ experience in construction or combination of health and safety management. o   BCSP, CSHO, or other certification, with good standing.  o   A certificate in occupational health and safety management. o   Excellent knowledge of OSHA standards and federal safety legislation. o   Solid knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices in the workplace. o   Familiarity with writing health and safety policies and procedures. o   Proficiency in conducting data analysis and reporting statistics. o   Working knowledge of safety management software, such as iAuditor, SiteDocs, and Safesite. o   Strong communication and teamwork skills. o   Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.   Site Safety Manager: Responsibilities -  o   Compile safety programs. o   Practice safe working techniques. o   Implement and maintain health and safety standards. o   Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees. o   Maintain compliance with all safety regulations. o   Conduct regular staff meetings to share best practice techniques. o   Standardize health and safety to remain consistent. o   Identify hazardous waste and disposing of it correctly. o   Promote safety initiatives. o   Compile and maintain relevant registers to ensure compliance. o   Document staff information, minutes of meetings, and reports compiled for management. o   Regularly inspect equipment. Big State Electric, Ltd. is seeking an experienced Estimator/Project Manager with Heavy MV Experience to manage and estimate MV projects ranging from 5KV to 38KV. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional who excels in a dynamic team environment. As an Estimator/Project Manager, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive project plans that accurately define resource requirements, schedules, task duration, and cost estimates. You will prepare project bids and cost estimates for client review and approval and ensure the completeness and accuracy of project deliverables before client submission. Your involvement will also extend to participating in client contract negotiations and preparing change orders. In this role, you will oversee various project meetings, including project kickoff, client alignment, status updates, and progress reviews. Additionally, you will approve project-related time sheets, expenses, and invoices. Your close collaboration with clients, project managers, field personnel, land men, electrical contractors, and internal departments is essential to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have 7-10+ years of experience as a project manager, with a specific focus on MV projects ranging from 5KV to 38KV. Proficiency in BlueBeam and AutoCAD is highly desirable, and familiarity with Auccbid, McCormick, or Conest software is beneficial. Utilizing prefab will trim the field install time from 2 weeks, with 3 guys to 1 day with the same personnel. Along with man hours, safety is always a concern at Big State Electric.
