This past weekend, on February 24th, BDAA had the pleasure of hosting the Spring 2024 Data I/O, the largest data analytics-based hackathon sponsored by Honda! We extend a huge thank you to Honda, 99P Labs, and Ryan Lingo for their sponsorship and mentoring throughout the event, providing participants with valuable knowledge and insights. Data I/O presented datasets and a general data challenge for participants to work on, enabling them to create projects and present them to experienced professional analysts serving as judges. Each team that submitted a project showcased exceptional data analytics skills, and despite strong competition, we were able to select five winners who truly excelled with their projects. We appreciate everyone who contributed and participated in this weekend's event. We hope you all had a memorable experience!

Last night the Business Builders had a collaboration meeting with the Big Data And Analytics club on campus, this time around with guest speaker Joe Vancena !!! It was awesome getting to ask some specific questions I had about #fundraising and scaling ideas, not to mention the entire process of working with an idea from 0 to 1🔝 (Mad props 🎉 to Ria Kakarlapudi Thomas Rigel Rohan Suggala and everyone else on both clubs exec team that created a super impactful environment 🥂) #osu #club #startup

This week we had the pleasure of having Abby Carleton and Nastaran Nellie N. come speak to BDAA on the behalf of Accenture to discuss the ins and outs of the impressive company and how they incorporate data analytics, computer science, consulting, and more, within their business. We got to hear a lot about the work culture and how these women take advantage of the numerous opportunities that Accenture provides for their employees. We are so grateful to have such a power company come and and take the time to show our members how this industry takes data analytics to the next level. Last week we had the honor of having American Electric Power and their representative, @fredrickbergstrand, come and discuss how AEP uses data analytics within their company. He also discussed the different languages and tools commonly used across the company as well as how they plan on navigating AI technology moving forward.
