The teens at East Side Boys & Girls Club recently had an exciting internship experience at General Mills! Thanks to Michael Wulf and Minnesota STEM Partnership, the youth visited the company's development kitchen where they learned firsthand about the creation of new products. During their visit they had the opportunity to make their own granola bars, gaining practical insights into the production process. Additionally, they learned about the marketing strategies used to promote General Mills products, giving them a comprehensive understanding of both the creation and commercialization aspects of the food industry. This hands-on experience was designed to inspire and educate them about potential career paths in the field!

The past Southside Village Community Friday was full of great music, food, and fun! A big shoutout to the Minnesota Vikings and Vikings Offensive Tackle Christian Darrisaw! The community and youth had the opportunity to meet Christian, play field games, enjoy inflatables, try out food from the Vikings Table Food Truck, and get backpacks full of back-to-school supplies. Don't miss out on the next Southside Village Community Friday event, which is open to everyone in the community, THIS FRIDAY from 3:00-5:30PM at Phelps Park!

Four BGCTC youth and their mentors are currently at The Summit for America's Youth, Boys & Girls Clubs of America's premier youth advocacy event in Washington D.C. Yesterday they presented on mental health, sharing their thoughts, perspectives, and stories on issues those in their communities are facing and bringing awareness to mental health and wellbeing. With more still in store for them throughout the week, we want to give a shoutout all the changemakers making an impact and advocating for change in their communities!

The Girls In Real Leadership group (G.I.R.L) at the Boys and Girls Club empowers young women to develop essential leadership and entrepreneurial skills. Through Girls with Impact business curriculum, workshops, mentorship, and hands-on experiences participants learn about business planning, financial literacy, and effective communication. The program fosters confidence, resilience, and a sense of community among the girls, preparing them for future success in various career paths. By connecting with local female leaders and entrepreneurs, the girls gain invaluable insights and inspiration for their personal and professional growth. Contact Erika at ehulleman@bgc-tc.org if you would like your youth to be part of the program!
