About us
Our Mission as a Youth Nonprofit Organization: To empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to discover their full potential as caring, engaged, responsible community members. About Us: For over 70 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro has provided our community with youth development services and opportunities for great futures. At our 10 Club locations across the Portland Metropolitan area, we strive to empower youth to become future leaders through engaging, enriching afterschool and summer programs. We offer academic support, a no-cost food program, cutting-edge technology training, sports clinics, career development, internship opportunities and assist youth and families with accessing needed community resources, along with so much more. When a child comes into one of our Clubs, they may not have had an opportunity to discover what they really love. Perhaps a family member just wanted to give them a place to be active, but the Club provides much more than that – a place to for a child to discover mentors, experiences, and activities that can broaden their mind and shape the person they become. Whether they develop a love for football, create a lasting friendship, build a prize-winning science project, experiment with podcasting, or find a quiet space to meditate and calm down, the Club allows youth to identify and develop their passions and gives them a safe place to express themselves. By providing a Club experience that encourages diversity, collaboration and respect, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro enables youth to successfully maneuver the obstacles in their lives and grow up to become adults equipped to make a difference in our society. We had an incredible time at the U.S. UNDERRATED Golf Tour with Steph Curry! 🎉 Members from Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro had the chance to meet junior golfers and explore the Pumpkin Ridge Ghost Creek Course on July 8th. Congratulations to Erin Hubert, Sport Oregon's first Leadership Award honoree! 🎉 Erin, a trailblazer for women in sports management, was the first woman on the Portland Trail Blazers @ the Rose Quarter' sales team and the National Basketball Association (NBA)’s first female executive vice president and COO. We are pleased to announce Erin Hubert as our first Leadership Award honoree. A native Oregonian who has served as a pioneering inspiration for women in sports management, Erin truly exemplifies the SHE FLIES spirit. Notably, Erin was the first woman to join the sales team with the Portland Trail Blazers @ the Rose Quarter and later made history again by becoming the first woman in the NBA to be named to a top leadership position as the team’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. Considering her background, it’s no surprise Erin has been such a staunch advocate for young women and their pursuits to advance professionally. Though now semi-retired, Erin continues to make a difference through her consulting work for Related Northwest and its work as a low-to-middle-income housing developer. Her leadership style is not only inspiration, but it’s down-to-earth and approachable. It is an honor to celebrate Erin Hubert as our first Leadership Award honoree.

Young entrepreneurs at the Regence Boys & Girls Club got business insights from established entrepreneur Marcus Harvey, founder of Portland Gear, and Terry Sprague, CEO of LUXE Forbes Global Properties who is also an executive board member for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro (BGCP). Club members shared their experiences building their lemonade businesses for Lemonade Day last year, and Marcus and Terry S. shared their journeys as business leaders and tips to their successes. BGCP CEO Terry Johnson joined as well, and the Club Members gave them a tour of the Regence Club afterwards.
