Best Buddies is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with IDD.
About us
Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The IDD community that Best Buddies serves includes, but is not limited to, people with Down syndrome, autism, Fragile X, Williams syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury and other undiagnosed disabilities. Best Buddies is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our programs empower the special abilities of people with IDD by helping them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society. https://linktr.ee/BestBuddiesMARI

Best Buddies in Massachusetts & Rhode Island is pleased to receive a grant from Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts for the continued growth of our Transitions and Jobs programs. These programs continue to provide pre-employment, post-secondary, and employment support to individuals who live life with an intellectual or developmental disability. Our work provides them with opportunities for independence to earn an income and give back to their communities. In turn, these employees help diversify our businesses, fill open roles, and add value to a sustainable workforce. To learn more about hiring a Best Buddies participant or getting involved with the Transitions or Jobs programs, please reach out to massachusetts@bestbuddies.org. Thank you again, Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts; we are so grateful for your support!

We are so excited to recognize BBMARI native James Day Keith as our June Half Hour Hero! If you didn't know, James starred in Champions, a groundbreaking film about a group of basketball players who overcome their challenges. It is loosely based on true events! He is also a Best Buddies Celebrity Ambassador, a multi-sport Special Olympic athlete, and a very talented hand-stander! Join us today at 6pm over zoom to meet James, hear him share about his experiences and participate in a Q&A!

Happy #FriendshipFriday! Chelmsford High School had their annual visit to Zesty's Pizza where they were welcomed into the kitchen to make their own mini pizzas. They get to choose their toppings. It's a fun activity and time to hang out with friends. There were a lot of smiles and laughter!
