Happy Presidents’ Day! We will be electing our next president later this year. When casting your vote, there are numerous matters at hand to consider in selecting a strong leader. So, what are some of the attributes that make a good president? The linked article ranks the top 25 presidents and their contributions. But maybe the who is not as important as the why. So, let’s focus on the why. The top skills that contributed to the Presidents rankings are as follows: Public Persuasion Moral Authority International Relations Administrative Skills Crisis Leadership Equal Justice Economic Management   These are all great attributes to look for in your leaders. Public Persuasion is the top skill set for effective presidents; this is a valuable leadership trait as it unifies people and brings them on one accord. However, I would caution that public persuasion without moral authority could be extremely detrimental. The next two highest ranked skills are International Relations and Administrative skills. An effective leader who has the skill set of International Relations can cooperate and collaborate with others that are different from him or herself. This ultimately creates strong healthy relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. The administrative skill set also falls in the top half of the presidential leadership traits. Without this skill trait, your home, business, and government would be in a state of constant chaos. Administrative skills bring cohesiveness to the structure of an organization and a country. Other qualities of a strong leader can be found in the link in the comments. Put your candidate to the Leadership Litmus test. Remember your vote is our future. Vote with knowledge, wisdom, and heart. Our office will be closed on Monday, February 19th in observance of Presidents’ day.

A Message from our CEO, Patricia Hill:   Martin Luther’s King’s life has had such a huge ripple effect on who we are today. As a young paper boy who had a dream to become a fireman when he grew up (1) he changed the trajectory of the world in which we live in. And it all started with a dream. King did not fulfill his dream of wearing a red suit with a red hard hat and driving a big red truck with a water hose, but he did extinguish fires that threatened the life of bondage, hopelessness, and social imprisonment.    King was a dreamer. In his last speech, he spoke these words: “I’ve seen the Promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the Promised Land”. King saw this in a vision or a dream. Today, it is still coming to fruition.   Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand (Zechariah 4:10). I believe the Lord has placed a plumb line in your hand. It may not look like it did when you were little, but it will serve the same purpose and could impact generations to come. Dare to Dream it.   Thank you, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.   In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, our office will be closed on Monday, January 15th.

A Message from our CEO, Patricia Hill: This is a celebratory time of year for most people. Depending on your culture and belief, you may celebrate in different ways. Traditions are embedded in Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and other holidays. Christmas is celebrated by all those that believe in the Immaculate birth and coming of Jesus Christ. My family celebrates Christmas. It is inclusive to all who choose to believe in The Resurrected Life. For many families, this is a blue season. They are suffering from the pain of losing a loved one, or perhaps they are a caregiver to a family member suffering from a chronic illness, or even yet they may be the one with their own life struggles. There seems to be nothing Merry for them. That is why the Christ in Christmas gives me hope beyond my circumstances. It gives me a hope that is more than what I am going through. So, when I wish you a Merry Christmas, I am wishing you hope, peace, and that the power of love will abound in you. Happy Holidays and Very Merry Christmas!!
