While #NationalIceCreamDay technically wasn't until Sunday, we couldn't resist celebrating a little early with ice cream on Friday afternoon! 🍦

Did you know Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) combine energy efficiency, strength, and durability? Our Roanoke Architecture team recently visited a private residence we designed that is being constructed with these unique building materials! ICFs are made of interlocking foam units, like large building blocks, which are stacked to form walls. These forms are then filled with concrete, creating a solid, durable, and well-insulated structure. 👷♀️ #architecture #buildingmaterials

Our Civil Engineering team in Roanoke recently checked on the progress at Valleydale Apartments in City of Salem, Virginia . A major revitalization project, the former Valleydale Meat Packing and Processing Plant is being transformed into an upscale apartment complex featuring 300 units with resort-style amenities. We are proud to provide civil engineering and surveying services on this important economic development initiative—and can’t wait for its completion in 2025!

The Balzer Charitable Fund was established as one of many ways we support the four communities where we live, work, and play. This year’s recipients were Roanoke Area Ministries - RAM House, Commonwealth Autism, Volunteer Montgomery, and Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity. We are so grateful for the tremendous role these organizations play in our local communities, and we are honored to support them! 📸: Richmond team members at last year's annual Community Day
