To celebrate 75 years of Baker McKenzie, our local offices are giving back... 💻 Working with the Baan Nokkamin Foundation and Wat Suan Kaew Foundation, Baker McKenzie Thailand donated laptops and other education equipment to underprivileged communities. 🏢 At our Hong Kong office, Global Chair Milton W. M. Cheng took part in a program for secondary school students from low-income families to help them learn what it's like to work at a global law firm and pursue a legal career. 🍱 Our Sydney office volunteers participated in a session with The Alfresco Community Kitchen. 🌈 Our Dallas office volunteers helped at Community Partners of Dallas’ “Rainbow Room” warehouse. CPD works with local Child Protective Services to help meet needs of abused and neglected children in Dallas County. 🤝 As part of our charity partnership with Refugee Advice & Casework Service (RACS), our Sydney office sponsored a Community Event for RACS clients (refugee and asylum seeker people/families) in Western Sydney. 📖 At The World Down Syndrome Congress in Brisbane, our Sydney office sponsored Project Etico trainees and graduates to attend as part of a practical experience and independence skills program. 💚 Baker McKenzie Thailand hosted a seminar discussing the latest sustainability regulatory landscape, highlighting a commitment to advancing sustainability in Thailand. What a weekend it was in Amsterdam! 🤩 Nearly 400 Baker McKenzie colleagues from across the world descended upon the city for the 2024 EMEA Fluency+ Tournament. It wasn't just about competition (although congratulations to London for winning Tag Rugby, Barcelona for conquering Football and Johannesburg for winning the Best Team Spirit award); it was about building connections and fostering a spirit of camaraderie. From matches on the pitch at Amsterdamsche Football Club (the oldest club in the city), to a celebratory BBQ at Strandzuid, the week was filled with laughter, teamwork, and (of course) some friendly competition. We were thrilled to welcome colleagues from EMEA+, the USA, and even Tokyo! We saw a fantastic mix of teams; with men, women, business professionals and lawyers of all seniority levels coming together across practices. 33 teams in total - 25 battling it out for football glory and 8 showcasing their tag rugby skills (a Fluency+ first!). But Fluency+ is about more than just winning. We were proud to partner with KLABU, an Amsterdam-based organization that uses the power of sport to support refugees worldwide (https://bmcknz.ie/3Y5YsJI). Multiple teams sported KLABU gear, and dozens of participants made personal donations. Congratulations once again to London, Barcelona, and Johannesburg for their impressive performances! But the real winners are all of us at Baker McKenzie who came together to celebrate our shared passion for the game and for each other. A big well done to the organizing committee of David Palumbo (He/Him), Louise Nicholson, Kaylea Sher-Fisher, Rosie Elizabeth Slade, Fatma Ismaylova-Tekin, Sjef Janssen, Casper Henschen and Joost Polman. Thanks for welcoming us Baker McKenzie Amsterdam!

We are pleased to have represented Credivalores in its exchange Offer and Chapter 11 Prepackaged Plan. This “unusual” case represents a fundamental shift in creditors rights, according to some. Learn more about what this might mean for Latin America: https://bmcknz.ie/4f6F7hx
