About us
Seeding women's health and life science ventures We founded Avestria Ventures with the belief that opportunities to invest in female entrepreneurs in women's health and the life sciences are being overlooked. With women making 80% of household healthcare decisions and comprising 80% of the healthcare workforce, we believe female entrepreneurs may possess the insight needed to identify and successfully solve the industry’s unmet needs. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and Beverly Hills, we seek out early stage businesses with a product or service that utilizes technology and/or data to improve the quality of healthcare, improve access, lower costs or empower patients. In order to achieve commercial success, these businesses must be evidence-based, induce clinical or behavioral change, possess scalable commercialization plans which account for healthcare policy, reimbursement and the existing infrastructure and possess a sustainable competitive advantage.

$100 million for the NIH Office of Research on Women's Health? While the House Committee on Appropriations' recommended 30% increase from last year sounds great on the surface, it is $54M below the President's recent request and remains only 0.2% of the total $48.5B NIH budget. We can do better. https://lnkd.in/emrj2hqj

One common question lately has been: if birth control is legal in all 50 states, why has Congress been voting on the right to access it? Eva Epker answers that question - and more - in her latest Forbes article. She sits down with Sophia Yen, MD, MPH of Pandia Health to talk about the Right to Contraception Act, Pandia's work in supporting women seeking birth control and other healthcare products and services, and women's right to - and need for - birth control in the first place.
