For HR professional Aashita Maheshwari, COVID was a turning point. “Humans are social beings. Isolation affects so many people adversely. I knew I could be doing more, so I took steps to do so, particularly helping people with their mental health.” Now she lends her calming presence and dedication to mindfulness to the work environment, leading group meditations, and to Crisis Text Line as a crisis counselor, listening to and supporting those who need it. In addition to her work with Avēsis, she practices pediatric dentistry in Alaska.
