For HR professional Aashita Maheshwari, COVID was a turning point. “Humans are social beings. Isolation affects so many people adversely. I knew I could be doing more, so I took steps to do so, particularly helping people with their mental health.” Now she lends her calming presence and dedication to mindfulness to the work environment, leading group meditations, and to Crisis Text Line as a crisis counselor, listening to and supporting those who need it. Thanks for everything you do to help people, Aashita! #Avēsis #ReachHigher #CommunityService #CommunityHealthMatters

“If advocacy was super easy, there wouldn’t really be a need for it.” Andi Norton, Avēsis associate and founding member of our Pride + Inclusion associate resource group (ARG), has been doing advocacy work, both within the company and out in the community, for 6+ years. To help others find a sustainable way to incorporate advocacy into their lives, Andi has these three tips to share. #Avēsis #ReachHigher #CommunityService #CommunityHealthMatters

“If we’re going to break the cycle of poverty, we need to educate moms better on the food they’re putting in their bodies from the very beginning of their pregnancy. We need to set them up with what they need so they can get their babies healthier.” Nutritional counseling during and after pregnancy is practically nonexistent. Moms and babies deserve better. #MaternalHealth #MaternalNutrition #WholeHealth

Changing the trajectory of someone’s health relies on understanding their situation, what they need, and what’s important to them. And then building a program that serves them. Brian Jones, Chief Growth Officer at Avēsis, shares more. #WholeHealth #CompleteHealthcare #PersonalizedHealthcare #OralHealth

The power of a smile is amazing. A person with a smile that boasts healthy teeth and gums often has greater confidence, communication abilities, and career opportunities. Sadly, generational cycles of poor oral health are common and contribute to cycles of poverty. The interplay between oral health problems and poverty is undeniable, but not unbreakable. Avēsis dental consultant, Dr. Christine Roalofs, DMD, is passionate about helping to break generational cycles of oral health issues. In addition to her work with Avēsis, she practices pediatric dentistry in Alaska. In Dr. Roalofs’ practice, she doesn’t just focus on treatment—she instills the role of good nutrition and habits in oral health. We view oral health as a lifelong journey that starts at birth, and we’re committed to helping our members experience life completely. Nobody deserves to miss days of school or work because of tooth pain. Nobody deserves to be passed for a job opportunity because they don’t have a gleaming smile that people associate with trustworthiness. Nobody deserves to be held back. With the help of dental heroes like Dr. Roalofs, we’re doing what we can to help break generational cycles of oral health problems. #Avēsis #ReachHigher #CommunityHealthMatters
