As the US Army fields autonomous capabilities throughout the force, Hawaii-based soldiers demonstrated that new technologies can be incorporated on the move and while in contact, senior leaders in the Indo-Pacific said. Just back from a six-month Operation Pathways rotation, having spent most of their time training with their counterparts in the Philippines, soldiers with the 25th Infantry Division’s 3rd Brigade Combat Team were observed “changing their mentality” as they adapted to the new technology, said Maj. Gen. Marcus Evans, the division commander. #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/FooJ-9Q #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #pacific #leader #operation #adapt #OperationPathways #autonomous

America needs a new type of US Army unit that collects NATO’s numerous but atomized European maneuver battalions into American-led multinational brigade combat teams. Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine has alarmed NATO and reinforced the need for collective defense. Russia is not letting its difficult and costly war get in the way of long-term planning to confront NATO directly. #ReadMore in ARMY magazine...https://loom.ly/Eh_EtOs #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #armymagazine #nato #russia #ukraine #collectivedefense #longterm #magazines

With the US Army no longer committed to combat deployments familiar to so many who participated in the global war on terrorism, most unit deployments now are rotations in support of combatant commands around the globe. While my experience comes from a unique mission leading NATO Forward Land Forces Battle Group-Poland, I have learned some lessons that are broadly applicable to many units as they prepare for rotational deployments to Europe or elsewhere. #ReadMore in ARMY magazine...https://loom.ly/dSGpEAY #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #armymagazine #nato #globalwar #europe #landforces #deployments #lesson #magazines

Sgt. Sagen Maddalena of the US Army Marksmanship Unit won a silver medal in the women’s 50-meter rifle three positions shooting final and Army veteran Vincent Hancock took gold in men’s skeet and silver in mixed team skeet during the Summer Olympics in Paris. “I made my corrections when [wide shots] happened, and I was able to climb back on top,” Maddalena told the International Shooting Sport Federation on Aug. 4. “[It] was really cool to come back from the mistake in an Olympic final and to be able to get back into the podiums. That was special.” #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/ygfPN7A #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #Olympics2024 #olympic #veteran #Veterans
