Revolutionizing technology in diversity recruiting, one placement at a time.

About us

Athari is a technology firm that focuses on tackling a world with an underrepresented workforce, a lack of diversity in positions of leadership and influence, and an ecosystem void of meaningful retention of diverse talent. We believe diversity is intersectional and we are building technology that addresses the access gap and making placements today for a more vibrant and equitable tomorrow. Athari is backed by the West Harlem Innovation Network (WHIN) and advised by Gene Waddy, the former CEO and Co-Founder of Diversant which was the largest African American owned IT staffing firm in the nation. Athari has been named the exclusive recruiting firm for the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, is a recipient of the Carver Federal Savings Bank Pitch Competition, and is a Outstanding Initiative finalist for the 2024 Black Tech Achievement Awards.

It's a great Monday to celebrate! As we start the first work week of #Pridemonth, the Athari team is reflecting on and honoring all of the people that braved silence, sacrificed joy, and endured a world that refused to see and celebrate them. These adversities have historically rang painfully true in the workplace, alienating employees in a space that is supposed bring fulfillment, meaning, and stability to their lives. Today, we intentionally recognize all of the talented individuals that enrich the workforce and also celebrate Pride month as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. We are grateful for your vibrancy and your contributions to a world strengthened by your perspective. We see you. #Happypride #diversity #bettertogether #celebratepride #pridemonth2024

Grateful to be chosen as 1 of 6 finalists in the pitch competition at the #Roadmaptobillions last Friday. The excitement, adrenaline, and impressive work from my co-finalists has been feeding me all weekend. Congratulations to all that participated and to Modjossorica (Rica) Elysee for your well deserved win. It was an honor to pitch beside you all! Thank you to Esosa Johnson and Regina Gwynn for creating Black Women Talk Tech and for carving out space for Black Female founders, visionaries, and their supporters. We are all grateful for the community you've built. Thank you to Gayle Jennings O'Byrne for your inspiring words and support of my first go at pitching Athari live and for sharing a meal with me.

Thank you to our partners at Union Settlement for continuing to do impressive and important work through their Adult Education program. Our CEO, Hazel Estwick Hurley. RN, Esq. and Director of Operations, Alex Wesser were able to attend and assist with a resume workshop on Friday. Our team focused on the following advice: 1. Keep your resume direct and simple-- the average hiring manager or recruiter spends less than a minute glancing at a resume so every line counts! 2. Let your personality shine-- don't let the fear of wanting to "seem professional" hide the details that make you special. Best fit is all about honesty, culture, and chemistry. 3. The details matter-- Describing what a job was like and why you were good at it is always more descriptive than a bullet point! Focus on painting a picture for your future employer. What are your favorite resume tips? Thank you to Dr. Darlene Williams, PhD for connecting us to the Adult Education program and for being our partner in positively impacting the talent that makes a vibrant workforce!
