While CEOs and CFOs excel in hospital management and cost control, they often lack deep technological expertise. This gap can hinder the adoption of AI solutions that could alleviate workforce pressures, enhance profitability, and drive better outcomes. However, Jessica Beegle, CIO in Residence at A.Team and former Lifepoint Health® exec argues against accepting this knowledge disparity as inevitable. Instead, she advocates for a proactive approach when it comes to bridging the AI knowledge gap in healthcare: 1️⃣ Education is Key: AI experts should work to establish a baseline understanding among healthcare leaders, keeping them informed and engaged. 2️⃣ Priority-Focused Approach: Before proposing tech solutions, understand the organization's core priorities and problems. 3️⃣ Use Case-Driven Strategy: Demonstrate AI's value through tangible business problems and solutions, making it easier for traditional thinkers to grasp its potential. 4️⃣ Outcome-Centric Dialogue: Frame discussions around improved patient care and operational efficiency rather than technical jargon. By adopting this approach, Beegle believes we can not only enhance ROI but also foster more productive conversations about AI's role in healthcare. Want to dive deeper? Watch the full discussion from our our Future of Health AI Salon in NYC featuring Jessica Beegle alongside industry leaders Aniq Rahman of Fabric, Morris Panner of Intelerad, HCA Healthcare’s Katie Whigham, PMP, and A.Team's Tyler Simpson: https://hubs.la/Q02GN9Vc0

McGraw Hill’s secret to growth in the digital age? Embracing cloud-based teams to develop their study app, Sharpen. In 2021, Justin Singh, Chief Transformation Officer at textbook giant McGraw Hill was looking for a way to retain younger audiences with innovative digital-first experiences. When he noticed students were seeking digital resources to complement their study materials, he knew that they needed to create something students actually wanted to use to stay ahead. Typically, the innovation process in enterprise is long, hard to scale, and difficult to hire for —especially when it comes to bringing together a team with diverse technical capabilities. Singh quickly realized that going the traditional route wouldn't lead to groundbreaking innovation — so he decided to partner with A.Team. With an A.Team of fractional top Silicon Valley talent, McGraw Hill was able to build Sharpen. A platform that allowed students to engage with bite-sized TikTok-style videos, swipeable study tools, and gamified Duolingo-esque quizzes customized to each student. Since it’s launch, Sharpen has driven a 28% growth in digital billings, earned a 4.8-star rating with over 1000 reviews, and achieved 30% higher retention rates than competitors. Win in AI with ABC: Always Be Curious. The second episode of the Lead with AI podcast is out now, and thanks to my guest, CXO AJ Thomas, it's chockful of truth bombs about AI and work. Here are five tips from this tech HR leader on how to successfully implement AI in your work, teams, and organization: 1️⃣ Map Your AI Journey: Understand AI's historical context and your company's place in it. AJ emphasizes knowing where you stand in the AI adoption journey is crucial. Create a timeline of AI milestones to write the future. 2️⃣ Humans in the Loop: AJ told me that "there's no output without really good input." Human involvement is critical in AI processes. For every AI implementation, clearly define human touchpoints and decision-making roles. This is how you ensure humans stay central in your AI processes. 3️⃣ Ask the Million-Dollar Question: No matter how (non) technical you are, everyone can ask this "one fun question": "What needs to be true for AI to impact our business?" This simple query can transform your AI strategy and kickstart a "Design of Experiment" to create purposeful AI projects aligned with your goals. 4️⃣ Cultivate Curiosity: "AI doesn't know how to be curious. We have to be curious and prompt them," says AJ on where humans still play a role. According to her, human curiosity is irreplaceable in AI adoption. By building a culture of curiosity, you can foster continuous learning and experimentation with AI. AJ also recommends implementing regular "AI learning sessions" for team members to share experiences. (Oh, and this stuff works: AJ's team cut hiring time from 3 months to 20 days using AI in their recruitment process!) 👇 Which tip resonates with you most? Share your thoughts and experiences below! #AJThomas #AI #LeadwithAI

In a nation where credit card debt has soared to a record $1.115 trillion, Michael Hershfield, the founder behind Accrue Savings, dared to ask: What if we flipped the script on Buy Now, Pay Later? While others saw debt as an inevitable part of the retail landscape, Hershfield imagined a world where saving was not just encouraged, but rewarded. “There are hundreds of ways that people are rewarded for buying on credit,” Hershfield explained, “but there has never been anything embedded in the retail experience that incentivizes people to save.” But transforming this bold idea into reality required more than just vision—it demanded cutting-edge fintech expertise. As a non-technical founder, Hershfield knew he needed a team of exceptional builders. Enter A.Team. In just 10 months, expert builders from A.Team’s network delivered an efficient, user-friendly platform that could seamlessly integrate with several third-party services, empowering consumers to save towards their desired purchases while earning rewards along the way. And it was a huge success: Merchant conversion rates skyrocketed by 77%, they raised $30M, won TIME’s Best Invention of the year, and Accrue Savings is now an embedded payment option for 35+ major retailers. “A.Team is a key reason for why we’ve been able to get the momentum we’ve had,” Hershfield said. “It allows us to scale our engineering at a pace that other companies find impossible. A.Team really is a competitive advantage for us.” Read the full story of how Accrue Savings went from 0 to 1 with A.Team: https://hubs.la/Q02BJYz60

Sometimes, the smartest move is knowing when to bring in reinforcements. When Sarah Nagy launched Seek AI in 2021, her passion and determination led her to tackle every aspect of the business. A brilliant mind behind the app's core algorithms, she even taught herself React and Angular to build the entire application. But while it's tempting to wear many hats, it's not always the most efficient path, as she eventually had to rebuild all the code she'd written. Resulting in a costly lesson in time and resources. She realized that focusing on her exceptional skills in algorithm development and bringing in experts for other areas could have accelerated Seek AI's growth. If she had the chance to redo it, she’d focus on her strength—building the app’s core algorithms—and bring in specialized experts from A.Team for the rest. That way she could focus on what she did best. (Disclaimer: this was not a planned ad for A.Team 😎) Thanks Sarah for both your candid insights and for the impromptu promo for A.Team! Imagine cutting your hiring time from months to minutes, while improving the quality of your tech hires. Sound too good to be true? Today, most HR departments are using AI to do resume scans, which is helpful in the elimination process but still requires significant legwork from managers to make sure candidates are the right fit. They're going to have to take it a step further if they want to take full advantage of what AI has to offer. So, this week, Paola Peralta from Employee Benefit News sat down with A.Team’s CxO lead, AJ Thomas ⚡️, to talk about the launch of A.Team’s Gen AI platform, Team Formation AI, and how it's redefining how companies assemble top tech talent. “A hiring manager’s time is really spent trying to source the right type of talent — they’re casting this wide net with all these sourcing channels feeding into it,” Thomas says. “With Team Formation AI, we can take all of the things that we know about the tech talent we have and curate a matching process.” By leveraging Team Formation AI, hiring managers bypass the traditional recruiting hurdles. Instead of spending countless hours on resumes and interviews, you get a curated list of candidates from A.Team’s talent pool of over 11,000 vetted expert builders—perfectly matching your needs—in minutes. For instance, if a company needs support building a mobile banking app, Team Formation AI searches for applicable candidates, finding engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers with the right skills, ensuring matches that are aligned for the project. AJ Thomas ⚡️ sums it up: "We always talk about talent being the biggest piece of our bottom line. But there's still a lot of time that is lost trying to find the skills and expertise you need. Team Formation AI is the convergence of not just talent building, but also tech building." In this era of AI transformation, Team Formation AI isn't just a tool—it's a competitive advantage. AJ continues: "In this technological transformation season that we are in, the thing that's always been true is that curiosity has always been a superpower. Go in and figure out how you could think about these processes differently and then how you could learn what it's actually about so that you can adopt it and use it to accelerate your business." More than half of Gen Z graduates are considering starting their career freelancing instead of committing to a full-time job — and the reasons why might surprise you. Fifteen years ago, Millennials entered the workforce during the Wild West of technological and economic upheaval. Amidst the Great Recession, the rowdy early days of social media, and the birth of Web 2.0, they pretty much got blamed for everything. Before long, they reshaped the workforce in profound ways over the course of a decade. Since then, Millennials have used their growing presence in the workforce to overturn many traditional workplace norms, like enhancing flexibility, improving work-life balance, fostering career development, and accelerating tech adoption. Now, dusting off the pandemic ashes and stepping into the wonderfully weird AI era, the traditional career path is being reshaped again — this time by Gen Z. What are the aspirations of this new generation as they embark on their careers? And more crucially, how should business leaders adjust their strategies to meet these new expectations? To get answers, we decided to do something crazy—we asked them. In the spring of 2024, we surveyed 332 Gen Z new grads across the country, and found that their priorities are reshaping the workforce in unexpected ways. Despite a robust job market, freelancing is on the rise — but this isn't due to a lack of options or a desire to avoid the office — with 70% having secured positions even before graduation, we knew it had to be about something deeper. And we were right. Read the full report to find out what’s motivating Gen Z to embrace freelancing over traditional work norms: https://hubs.la/Q02FPdRG0

Imagine you are one of the 5 million Americans who are working freelance and making more than $100K: Would you form an LLC or an S Corp? For many freelancers in this position, the decision can be overwhelming and confusing. This was precisely the problem Ran Harpaz, CEO of Lettuce Financial, aimed to solve by developing a platform that simplifies tax decisions for solopreneurs. The goal was to create an end-to-end platform that provides tailored solutions and manages the complexities of the outdated tax system using AI. However, Lettuce Financial faced a significant challenge—they needed to launch this ambitious project in just six months. To meet this tight deadline, Harpaz turned to A.Team to assemble an expert team including Ambika Nigam as Product Manager, Won You as Product Designer, and Youssef Kholeif as Growth Marketer, to build a platform that automated tax filing, legal entity setup, and integrated with third-party banking and financial services, offering a comprehensive solution for freelancers and solopreneurs. “We are building a company by solos for solos. So we thought: Let's go to a place where those people congregate,” said Harpaz, referring to A.Team’s community of 11,000+ elite freelance product builders, “Let's find the best ones and bring them in so they can build a solution from their own personal experience.” In a remarkable six-month span, A.Team helped Lettuce Financial develop a minimum viable product from scratch. The launch of Lettuce Financial’s platform marks a significant milestone in the fintech industry’s shift towards supporting freelance workers with the tools they need to thrive. The results? Lettuce Financial surpassed its initial customer acquisition targets within two months of launching, leading to $6M raised. “I've looked at many solutions across the years—Freelancer platforms, direct contractors and everything onshore and offshore,” Harpaz said. “What I liked about the A.Team model is the concept of bringing together a whole team. I'm getting access to high-caliber people who hit the ground running and deliver.” Looking for an expert team of your own?
