The 2024 AIEN Gas Course: From PSC to LNG concluded last week in Luanda, Angola. The course attracted 50 participants from within Angola and others travelled from countries such as Namibia, Timor-Leste, the US, Tanzania, and the UK, creating a diverse and rich learning environment. The three-day course is designed to guide participants through the entire commercial and legal cycle of natural gas, from PSCs to LNG and covers a broad range of topics, including global primary energy supply and demand, offering an overview of the current global energy landscape and the evolving dynamics shaped by recent events such as pandemics and civil conflicts. Another key area of focus is the energy outlooks, comparing current policies with the net-zero carbon scenario. AIEN President-Elect Shakwa Nyambe, LL.M (UK) provided opening remarks, describing the significance of the course: "This course will not only provide you with essential knowledge and tools, but also give you a competitive advantage in the gas and LNG sector. More importantly, it will enable you to serve your clients better and deepen your understanding of the inner workings of the energy industry.” We want to thank all this year’s attendees and our dedicated faculty members Rob Lesnick, Mark Manser, Clement Kilembe, Kenneth Yoss, and Sonia Foreid for making this a successful course in Africa! Stay tuned for more information about the 2025 course in Asia! #oilandgas #energyindustry #energy #energysector #Africa #gascourse
