As the snow leaves our slopes, the warmer days of early summer turn our mountains into a hiker and biker’s paradise. Activities shift to mountain biking, hiking, ziplines, ropes courses, family-friendly sightseeing, outdoor dining, and the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster, all concentrated on Aspen Mountain and Snowmass.    Haven’t experienced the Silver Queen Gondola in the summer? With one season of the new Hero’s terrain under our belt, we’ve gotten used to a new Aspen Mountain—one with more skiing and riding and easier access, plus all the character we love. Those who’ve skied it know that not every run is complete, and some hard work remains. This summer, we’ll continue removing timber strategically, focusing on standing dead and diseased trees. Any higher-quality, live timber we cut gets donated to a miller in Rifle or to The Farm Collaborative’s new educational center. The trade is for a functional high-elevation ski run, a fire-mitigated landscape, and additional light and air that boosts flower and vegetation growth as well as increased animal traffic. We’ve already seen a surge of plant growth throughout Hero’s in just a few seasons of timberwork. Thank you to our hardworking on-mountain crews and the continued guidance of our partners at the US Forest Service.

The days are getting warmer in the Roaring Fork Valley, and the sun has set on another amazing ski and snowboard season at Aspen Snowmass. This winter, we opened 153 acres of brand-new, high-elevation terrain known as Hero’s on Aspen Mountain; played hooky for steep and deep mid-week powder turns in the legendary Highland Bowl and spent weekends carving down classic runs like Sneaky’s and Long Shot on Snowmass; and took a few laidback laps off Tiehack on Buttermilk.     We added to the storied lore of alpine racing at Aspen Snowmass with the 2024 Audi FIS Ski World Cup, culminating in the return of the Stifel Aspen Winternational tradition and showstopping concerts. We welcomed back the biggest and brightest party of the year with the 47th annual Aspen Gay Ski Week, watched record-breaking wintersports action at the 23rd X Games, and cheered on the endurance athletes climbing and skiing our mountains in the Audi Power of Four ski mountaineering race. We also enjoyed powder days across our four mountains.    Look back and reminisce on everything we loved about this winter at Aspen Snowmass with our end-of-season recap video—then start dreaming about what next season holds.

That's a wrap for all four mountains! Despite its challenges, we're immensely thankful for the incredible memories and moments shared on our slopes. From fresh powder days to sunny après-ski sessions, each experience has been a testament to the spirit of adventure and camaraderie that defines our community. We're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together this season. As we bid farewell to the snow filled slopes, we look forward to our summer adventure ahead.
